Arrivée à Clermont-Ferrand

I finally arrived at Clermont-Ferrand. And I'm quite happy about that but I think it will take a little time until I get used to all the new stuff.

Our apartment's on the third floor of an really old house in the middle of the town near the big place Jaude. :)

Everything is right around our apartment: Supermarket, bars :), the cathedral (as you will see on the pictures), restaurants, drugstores, tramway, etc. :).
And it doesn't take a long time to get to university which is NOT what I'm used to, but I'm sure, I'll like it.

As we didn't do much today, I can't really comment on anything.

Just a link for you to see some nice pictures. :)

All my bags are packed...

...am I ready to go?

Not sure yet. I passed my last exam in Regensburg today and now... holidays? I don't have the mind to rest. There are too many things to think about, to organize and...puh!
We are moving to Clermont-Ferrand on August 29th which makes me a bit scared because this means: NEXT WEEK already! Time flies...
I hope everything will be alright in France. It's quite a new experience for everyone of us and I hope so much that we'll all pass a great time together.
I decided to look for a job finally to earn some extra money, so that I can maybe spend a week in Paris or at the Côte d'Azur in spring. I've already visited Paris on a school exchange, but it would be different to return.
But for now I will enjoy the next week - my last week in Germany for a longer time - and then see forward.

Enough for the moment.
To get some holiday atmosphere:

"Even though you think i may sound pathetic
you should know what you mean to me, i say
a mad attraction, somehow magnetic
i'm stuck to you, and now you're stuck to me

if you were a jewel, you would be a diamond
if you were a star, planetary alignment
if we were in school i'd want you for my assignment
so don't leave me girl, if you don't wanna see me crying

chorus: (2x)
fly me through the sky
on a satin butterfly (i say)
fly me through the sky
singing songs of love

singing songs of love ...

my heart is jumping in my chest i feel it everywhere
my knees keep shaking let me sit down on a chair
'cause you're so beautiful girl and it's absolutely clear
i love the way you smile, and your long dark hair, 'cause
your lips are so red, so soft and so sweet
your hips got the kinda curve that knock me off my feet
the way you walk, you swerve(?) over the concrete
if i had you girl, you'd make my life complete"

I'm studying "German and French Studies" in the second semester at the University Regensburg.
This interdisciplinary study course contains one year in France, that all the students of the course are going to pass together in the third and fourth semester.
Because of the town twinning of Regensburg and Clermont-Ferrand / Auvergne that lasts already 40 years, it's no surprise that we 25 students are going to move to Clermont-Ferrand in August 2009. We'll hopefully pass a great time there!

First of all CONGRATULATIONS that you found my blog. I just copied this blog-thing from my big little sister, who passed two semesters in Sweden and who kept her friends in the loop by posting entries.
Because of my upcoming year in France (August 2009 - August 2010) for studying two semesters and for passing a lab that lasts four months, I'm also using this possibility to inform you about the things going on in France.
Have fun and do not avoid commentaries. I'm happy about every sign of life coming from my beautiful homeland.
